A reminder for those who wish to join our monthly online conversation. We gather Tuesday, September 2, 7:30 pm Eastern. As always, I’ll send a Zoom link to all paid subscribers and post the video the following day for those who can’t make it live.
My special guest this time will be Dana Sawyer. Dana is professor emeritus of philosophy and world religions at the Maine College of Art & Design. He’s written biographies of Aldous Huxley and Huston Smith and, most recently, The Perennial Philosophy Reloaded: A Guide for the Mystically Inclined. From his website: “Dana’s primary expertise is in Hinduism and Buddhism, but for more than twenty years his work has focused on comparative mysticism, theories of the ‘perennial philosophy,’ and the value of psychedelic experiences in the study of mysticism.”
He’s also a dear old friend of mine, and I can guarantee we’ll all learn something new and have some good laughs.
With life in America getting more alarming by the day, we all need the support, guidance, and reassurance of spiritual comrades. So I hope you can join us.
Preview: My guest at October’s gathering will be Miranda Macpherson. More on that down the road.
Meanwhile, have a glorious Labor Day weekend and be extra kind to all the workers you come across.
