I know all about Trungpa's behavior and the even worse behavior of his son. I condemn it in the strongest possible terms, and I condemn everyone who found excuses for it or rationalized it away as "crazy wisdom." That includes Ginsberg if that's what he did. My post was not about that. I'm on the board of the Association for Spiritual Integrity precisely to do what I can to educate the public about abuse and establish strong ethical codes for spiritual teachers.
You should see me addressing Buddhist establishment figures ! They block me so Quick ! As they Lose face by being apologists fir cult action and it’s so uncomfortable being confronted by a Buddhist expert
I used to critique Shambhala on Reddit so I met a lot of the old gang including a certain Nancy Steinbeck ! I got on great with her and I’m sure you know the history there ! Pretty funny !
A severe critic of Shambhala ! Let’s say all his friends and must readers found an excuse for sloppy dharma ! I’m pretty good at theology being a ex seminary student so I enjoy being dreadfully cruel and screwing with the dregs of the beat scene
Great post, although maybe because Ginsberg was an important figure for me as a young would-be poet. I remember seeing him with Dylan's Rolling Thunder Tour and then years later at Passim's, a folk club in Harvard Square. Thanks.
I happened to be there for the celebration when Gregory Corso was laid to rest in Rome’s divine Protestant Cemetery, where Keats and Shelley are also interred.
Beautiful
I’m Philip Beeman from Ottawa
Thanks for your comments and support for holding spiritual teachers accountable.
